Aitor was born in Zarautz and from an early age he was interested in the sea and surfing. A congenital glaucoma caused him to lose the sight in his right eye at the age of fourteen. Doctors advised him not to go surfing again, but Aitor decided not to follow their advice and lost his sight completely in a surfing accident at the age of 39. Far from giving up, Aitor learned to move around independently and returned to surfing. 5 years later, Aitor will attempt one of the most dangerous challenges of his life; surfing one of the biggest waves in Europe.
